In Memory: Damon Audigier

These are the kind of industry mentions one never wants to report.

I received news last night that my good friend and model, Damon Richey, known to gay porn fans as Damon Audigier, passed away at the tender age of 21.

The qualities I choose to recall most fondly about my friend Damon are his sense of humor, his pride regarding his ethnic heritage and his unwavering love of all things Mariah Carey, the latter of which fostered a strong bond between the two of us.

For me, Damon was like the little brother I never had. He would often come to me seeking advice about a bevy of subjects.

I embraced the friendship because a part of me could sense that he was a fragile spirit yearning for a better understanding of his life, but more importantly, how to come to grips with his place in this sometimes cold world.

Few likely knew that he paid a good deal of attention to politics and world events.

One of the most inspirational Mariah songs often cited by Damon was “Anytime You Need A Friend” and in the wake of his passing no lyric is more poignant than “Take my hand, Take me into your heart. I’ll be there forever baby, I won’t let go. I’ll never let go.”

I will miss his charming smile and kind, childlike heart. He will always be a L4L!

Audigier was active in the adult industry for a variety of studios, most notably for Citiboyz, a place where he was embraced as family by owner Steve Shay. Damon was also shepherded by Howard Andrew and the Fabscout crew.

Rest now in peace, Damon. We all love you! I only wish you had known how beautiful and important you really were to those of us who truly knew you.
